Suggested use

Q: How does clinoptilolite zeolite work as a GI binder?

A: Clinoptilolite zeolite has a rigid, negatively charged aluminosilicate lattice structure that selectively attracts and captures positively charged compounds — including heavy metals such as lead, mercury, and cadmium, as well as ammonia and certain environmental toxins — through a process of ion exchange within the gastrointestinal tract. At ~40 microns, ZeoBind® acts exclusively in the GI lumen without systemic absorption, supporting their fecal elimination through normal digestive processes.*

Q: Why must ZeoBind® be taken away from food, medications, and other supplements?

A: Because zeolite's ion-exchange binding activity is non-selective within its size and charge parameters, taking ZeoBind® too close to food, medications, or other supplements could theoretically bind beneficial nutrients or reduce the absorption of co-administered compounds. Biopure recommends at least 30 minutes — and ideally 2 hours — away from other supplements, medications, and food to ensure selective binding of targeted compounds.*

Q: What is the California Prop 65 warning on ZeoBind® about?

A: California's Prop 65 law requires warning labels when products contain any detectable level of certain compounds — including lead — regardless of whether the amount poses an actual health risk. ZeoBind® is a naturally occurring earth-derived mineral (zeolite) that may contain trace amounts of lead naturally present in geological material. Biopure includes this warning in compliance with California state law. Federal safety guidelines for such trace levels are significantly less stringent than California's Prop 65 thresholds.*

    One of my favorite binders

    Love this stuff! It dissolves easily in water. I keep it on hand whenever I'm exposed to heavy metals and mold.
